December 2018 Roundup

December was a good month overall, I had a lot of school off because of the holidays. I saw the new Spiderman: Into The Spiderverse, and it was really good, Ian and I also saw a series called You,, which is a decent series about a kind stalker obsessed with one girl. I had a great date with Faith at the coffee shop. The month started off with a long snow break, which I spent with Stanton, we sledded, played black ops zombies, and watched the Walking Dead. He ended up staying over for two days because he couldn't move his car. Also we put snow around a shopping cart in the big lots road to block it off for kicks, admittedly it's kind of a dick move, but no one is using it. Later, Ian Alec and I climbed onto the buses at high point central because it was empty because of the snow, it was difficult but we climbed up. I listened to a lot of Remo Drive and PUP this week. They are amazing, the way they use unconventional punk singing and well crafted guitar melodies is insane.

I also listened to a ton of Amity Affliction this month. Those songs helped me get through the visit to my dad’s house. Those were the four hardest days this year. I has stressed with being down there. I become a shell of myself, i sleep about 14 hours a day. Every night I got drunk, but I didn’t let alec or anyone know. I’m glad im out of their, I wish the situation wasn’t like that but it is what it is. After exams I got crepes with Stanton, Gabby, and Isabella, and after that we went to david’s house and saw The Nun, which was a garbage movie. Alec, Ian and I took a day trip to go to the target in winston-salem, to get mom’s fitbit, which was fun.A lot of nights this month my family watched cutthroat kitchen, and I also listened to a lot of the TIny Meat Gang podcast.

I played Garry’s Mod and Star Wars battlefront 2 this month, since I was bored of Black ops 4. We headed up to Galax for christmas. Galax is part of my childhood and always will be, it’s a town of about 7k people, and Alec and I went to their only skatepark, where we tried going down ramps, which was pretty difficult. On Christmas eve we went down to my uncle’s house. My stepcousin Zayn has the coolest room, it’s basically a mancave in the basement. He’s into everything that we are, and we talked about everything from weed to indie rock like Remo Drive and Focus Ring. I got a new Boss Katana amp and some pedals for christmas, and that amp absolutely shreds, it really improves my playing and tone. I also got a pair of Doc Martens, which I really like. Ian helped me through a lot of stuff with family drama. PUP was also a huge influence in Alec and my music, when we play, we cover Remo Drive and them sometimes. Overall, it was a good month, although some parts were hard, I had a lot of great experiences.
